Outback S3 users will now be able to acquire supplemental software that has recently been released by Hemisphere GPS that will allow for the configuration and operation of Outback Automate from the user interface of Outback S3. Hemisphere GPS, the makers of Outback, manufacture a variety of technology applications for precision farming, including precision GPS receivers and GPS antennas, positioning and navigation systems, and guidance and machine control systems. Hemisphere GPS products are not only used in agriculture, but also in other markets such as construction and marine.

Outback AutoMate is a product that automates section control and works directly with the full spectrum of Outback Guidance products. Hemisphere GPS lauds the quick returns on investment of its product.
With the new software, it will be easier than ever for Outback S3 users to configure the AutoMate features, operate the Automate system, and view spraying or planting data on a moving map, all directly on the S3’s touch screen interface.
In a statement, Jeff Farrar, Hemisphere GPS’s director of Marketing and Agriculture, said: “The software update is really targeted at enhancing our customer’s experience with the Outback S3 and Outback AutoMate systems. We have made it easier, faster, and more affordable for Outback S3 owners to pair their guidance system with Outback AutoMate.”
As soon as the AutoMate is configured to work from within the S3, users can complete a basic planting or spray job, or outline field boundaries and no-plant/spray zones. Once these zones have been created in the S3, AutoMate will automatically turn off any implement sections that may enter these zones. AutoMate is able to turn sections on or off depending on what zones they are entering and whether or not they have been previously applied. Users are also able to create a field boundary and as many as eight no-plant/spray zones for any job.
The supplemental software upgrade can be downloaded by current Outback S3 owners. The new S3 and the Outback AutoMate units include a one-year warranty and can be upgraded to a three-year extended warranty.
Hemisphere GPS is also announcing the release of their new installation kits, which can be used for high-performance Outback eDriveX auto-steering systems. The kits will support articulated tractors and precision steering. For more information, visit Hemisphere GPS.
